Jan 8, 2013 7:13 AM in response to Acicarbon There is no built in way to sort bookmarks in Safari, crazy I know. The quick and dirty method is to drag a bookmark folder out of Safari to the desktop. Its turned into a Regualr folder which you can then sort by name as you would sort any Finder window. When its sorted drag it back to Safari. Safari allows bookmark folders with the same name to exist so this won;t be a problem. Once you've dragged it back and checked it to make sure the operation went OK delete the original bookmark folder. And of course you can delete the folder that was made on the Desktop.regards Jan 8, 2013 10:14 AM in response to Frank Caggiano One thing I forgot to mention. When you drag the folder back into Safari you will not be able to drag it into the Bookmark sidebar (you can drag out of there but not back into it).No problem just drag the folder into the main bookmarks window and then drag it to the sidebar. Jan 8, 2013 9:56 PM in response to Acicarbon Hi FrankThis is for safari on the iPad. Not sure you can drag to desk top? Now I open the bookmarks and they have all gone, just the few default, not sure how this happened. I have just updated to iOS 6 a few days ago.CheersMalcolm Jan 9, 2013 6:58 AM in response to Acicarbon Ah in that case do as CT wrote and go to the iPad community and ask there.Though it won't hurt to give it a try anyway.regardsJust thought of something else. Do you have a Mac computer running Lion or Mountain Lion? If so you can have the bookmarks shared between devices in the cloud. You could then do the sort in Safari on the Mac and the sorted bookmarks will migrate to the iPad. Apr 4, 2013 10:16 PM in response to Acicarbon I agree this is f**ked. The fact that Safari can't sort bookmarks alphabetically is so lame! May 13, 2013 3:26 PM in response to Crashley This has been a mess for so long- Apple should hang its head in shame. Why can't we sort the bookmarks the way we can sort in folders, etc?And Safari bookmarks do sort themselves into non-alpha order without human intervention, requiring the continual dragging and fiddling.Does no

Why can’t Safari sort bookmarks

One at Apple have pride in the product? Nov 3, 2013 8:18 AM in response to Frank Caggiano The best way to sort bookmarks in Safari is download the app called "Safarisort". Click on the app, it will sort Safari. However, the only disavantage is that you then have to click on the option "quit", as it offers you to "visit the bolg". Why haven't Apple done this? Don't know. Nov 10, 2013 12:19 PM in response to Rickster_G4 I AGREE 100%--It is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS that there is NO designated function in the IOS 7 IPAD to ALPHA SORT SAFARI BOOKMARKS, I would think APPLE would be very embarrassed about not including this function which many/most users would expect as DEFAULT. I guess APPLE is not embarrassed enough yet since this issue has certainly been around long enough. Now it's November 10, 2013, a whole new IOS overhaul to current ver 7 and this function is still not included---oh, please!

There are many browsers on the mac, such as Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and so on. I usually use Safari and chrome browsers, but sometimes I also use firefox. Many mac users like me, install and use more than two browsers on the mac. Each browser has a list of bookmarks that can sync bookmarks to different computers, phones, and their own accounts, but can't sync bookmarks to other browsers. If we need to collect and merge these bookmarks, is there a way to sync all the bookmarks on different browsers on the Mac? 1. Use One Bookmark to sync bookmarks from different browsers We can download and install One Bookmark to sync all bookmarks on different browsers. It supports for Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Opera browser, and it can find and remove duplicate bookmarks and unreachable bookmarks.1. Run One Bookmark and select Manage All Bookmarks 2. Click the folder view icon button in One Bookmark, and then click Manage bookmarks button, and choose Remove empty bookmark folder menu item to delete empty folders and subfolders that don't have bookmarks inside.3.
