For example I got ver 34.0.1847.132 here with pepperflash ver.13.0.0.206 installed. To use it by default you need to go to chrome://plugins/ go to Adobe Flash Player section and select what ver. to use answered Apr 25, 2014 at 9:56 There does seem to be a bug with Pepperflashplugin indeed. (Flashplugin-installer package would not work for Chrome too, only on Firefox)As a workaround, I suggest using Chrome beta channel. (Currently version: 35.0.1916.69-1) First purge google-chrome-stable and also delete your Chrome config for starting clean.sudo apt-get purge google-chrome-stablerm -rf ~/.config/google-chromesudo apt-get install google-chrome-betaThis did the trick for me answered Apr 27, 2014 at 23:08 You must log in to answer this question. Go to adobe flash player site and download the tar.gz Since mine is 64 bit architecture, it shows 64 bit, For you have to download 32 bit. I suppose the contents are downloaded in Downloads folder. Right click and extract the contents. In the extracted folder, check there be a file libflashplayer.so. Type sudo nautilus in your terminal and give the password. This will open a nautilus file manager with root access. Go to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins Copy and paste the libflashplayer.so from Downloads directory to here. Close nautilus. Close terminal. Open Firefox, go to Plugins, Tools->Addons->Plugins, If it shows Shockwave Flash that means you have successfully installed Flash, Head on to Youtube.com and Enjoy. Hope it helps. answered Dec 8, 2013 at 19:17 ASCIIbeticalASCIIbetical8972 gold badges10 silver badges22 bronze badges Start asking to get answers Find the answer to your question by asking. FutureSplash Animator is a vector-based animation system from FutureWave Software for Macintosh and Windows. The animation files could be distributed with the FutureSplash Player plugin for runtime playback within a web browser.[1]History[] SmartSketch was the predecessor of FutureSplash. FutureSplash evolved from another project at FutureWave called SmartSketch. FutureWave co-founder Jonathan Gay developed SmartSketch as a graphics application for PenPoint OS, running on graphics tablets designed by GO Corporation. After AT&T Corporation acquired the rights to the EO Personal Communicator tablets only to discontinue it, FutureWave no longer had a viable market for SmartSketch. Gay retooled the application to be able to output animated content that could be played back from any web browser. This product became FutureSplash Animator, which shipped on August 19, 1996. Early adopters included MSN and Disney Online.[1][2][3]FutureWave pitched the product to Adobe Systems, but an agreement was not reached and Adobe promoted rival specifications to Flash.[4] In January 1997, FutureWave was acquired by Macromedia for an undisclosed sum.[5][6] FutureSplash Animator became Macromedia Flash. Gay would go on to become the Chief Technology Officer of Macromedia in 2004.[7] Adobe would end up acquiring Macromedia in December 2005 for $3.4 billion, mainly for Flash.[4][8]Video[]FutureSplash Animator in 1996References[]↑ 1.0 1.1 FutureWave Software Ships FutureSplash Animator — Vector-based Animation and Drawing for the Web, FutureWave Software. 1996-08-19. Most popular one seem to be macromedia flash 8 for nostalgia reasons, but I really am starting to love CS5.5/CS6 because no subscription attached to it. I think I may outright refuse to use the creative cloud version of flash just because I have contempt for subscriptions for software rather than a service such as video streaming or something like that. 2025-04-20Clean install of 14.04 LTS. Single OS. Have installed Chrome for linux, updated, removed, reinstalled 14.04 LTS. No flash. I have done everything from every site I can find, nothing.Using Chrome I get a Black Screen. (hardware acceleration is off)Same with Chromium.....Firefox attempts to update Flash player, then says I need to update my browser and flash to the newest version. (both are up to date).Been 4 days and I am at my wits end......any help would be appreciated. asked Apr 22, 2014 at 0:44 4 Update: the package pepperflashplugin-nonfree is now deprecated. You need to install the adobe-flashplugin. Make sure to enable Canonical Partners software source before installing the package. It works for Firefox and Chromiumsudo apt-get install adobe-flashpluginRead more about this on:Ubuntu official site official Ubuntu Desktop Guide answered Apr 25, 2014 at 9:31 frommelmakfrommelmak6266 silver badges6 bronze badges 4 AFAIK If you use chromium, you indeed in need to install pepperflashplugin-nonfree, but in case of using Google Chrome for linux, it comes with pepperflash preinstalled.
