Microsoft Edge Update Dev New(Image credit: Daniel Rubino / Windows Central)What you need to knowMicrosoft is testing a feature for Edge that boosts a PC's refresh rate when scrolling on the web.The feature requires a display that supports Variable Refresh Rate, which is available on many gaming monitors. When enabled, the feature should smooth the scrolling experience within the browser.Microsoft has a feature in testing that allows the Edge browser to boost the refresh rate of a PC's display. The option improves the smoothness of scrolling within the browser. To use the feature, a PC needs to have a display that supports Variable Refresh Rate, which is available on many of the best gaming monitors.First spotted by Leo Varela, the choice to "boost screen refresh rate when scrolling" is currently available in Edge Canary through a flag. The description for the option reads:Boost screen refresh rate when scrolling.Allows Windows to temporarily boost the refresh rate up when scrolling (provided the machine has a VRR panel and a supporting driver). This provides an overall smoother scrolling experience. In addition to improving how scrolling appears within the browser, the feature could reduce how much energy Edge needs. The description doesn't specifically mention battery life but keeping a PC's refresh rate down when inactive and then boosting it when needed would use power more efficiently than locking a computer's refresh rate.A related feature for Windows 11 called Dynamic Refresh Rate lets supported PCs jump between 60 and 120Hz automatically. Dynamic Refresh Rate is only available on a short list of PCs, including the Surface Pro 8 and Surface Laptop Studio.Microsoft Edge is a popular browser that's available on a wide range of devices. Microsoft is working on a feature that will let the browser boost the refresh rate of a PC to improve scrolling. All the latest

GENERAL DESCRIPTIONThe CM6800 is a controller for power factor corrected, switched mode power suppliers. Power Factor Correction (PFC) allows the use of smaller, lower cost bulk capacitors, reduces power line loading and stress on the switching FETs, and results in a power supply that fully compiles with IEC-1000-3-2 specifications. Intended as a BiCMOS version of the industry-standard ML4824,CM6800 includes circuits for the implementation of leading edge, average current, “boost” type power factor correction and a trailing edge, pulse width modulator (PWM). Gate-driver with 1A capabilities minimizes the need for external driver circuits. Low power requirements improve efficiency and reduce component costs.FEATURESPin to pin compatible with ML4800 and FAN4800Additional folded-back current limit for PWM section.23V Bi-CMOS processVIN OK turn on PWM at 2.5V instead of 1.5V Internally synchronized leading edge PFC and trailing edge PWM in one ICSlew rate enhanced transconductance error amplifier for ultra-fast PFC responseLow start-up current (100μA typ.)Low operating current (3.0mA type.)Low total harmonic distortion, high PFReduces ripple current in the storage capacitor between the PFC and PWM sectionsAverage current, continuous or discontinuous boost leading edge PFCVCC OVP Comparator, Low Power Detect ComparatorPWM configurable for current mode or voltage mode operationCurrent fed gain modulator for improved noise immunityBrown-out control, over-voltage protection, UVLO, and soft start, and Reference OKEdge to Edge Text – Frontend Masters Boost
Black Box Analog Design HG-Q Well this should be quite interesting Instagram interesting indeed!BBA guys please tell us more about this thing! Isn't it !? Tubes, Cut & Boost, Shelf or Bell, M & S, Low cuts, Solo per Channel...Now what is the "Post" and "H-mode" I wonder ?And last but not least......Price Tag ??? Lives for gear Joined: Dec 2015 Posts: 9,734 Verified Member 2 Reviews written 🎧 5 years Here's some more info:Front panel is incorrectThe HPF knob will be a drive control to allow you to push into the tube stagesThe H-MODE is a harmonic mode that will increase tube harmonics and saturationThe POST mode places the boost knob post the cut knob, so you can pull out some 1k narrow (cuts are narrower) and then boost back some 1k (wider boosts) with tube harmonics around it to edge away bad stuff and add in good stuff either side, like a Pultec trick, but it's NOT a Pultec copy in anyway as far as I can seeWhen bands aren't in POST mode, they are passive parallel boost filters, where cuts are active filters, the bandwidth control applies to both boost & cut, but cuts are narrower than the boosts...The prototype had sweep frequencies but the final unit should be steppedIt's shaping up to kinda be like a multi-band HG-2 in an EQ with mid/side... could be mental!-T that all sounds great. hopefully the frequency choices on the front panel are correct, because i think they're all really well-chosen. Quote: Originally Posted by dogoftears ➡️ wow that sounds exciting.so wait, will it have an HPF?? Apparently not, but I guess it's more appropriate to have some extra boost to make the entire unit sounds warmer, than simple high pass filters wich can easily and more precisely be done ITB. Imo anyway...Can't wait to hear some sound exemple ! The fast growing edge computing standout saw its stock jump over 7 percent on Thursday morning with the news of its acquisition of web application security company Signal Sciences. Fast growing edge computing cloud standout Fastly is acquiring cybersecurity firm Signal Sciences for $775 million in a move to boost Fastly’s edge security capabilities and accelerate sales at the edge. The acquisition deal, announced Thursday morning, lifted Fastly’s stock up more than 7 percent to $95.98 per share. Fastly’s stock has rebounded significantly from a low of $11.13 per share in mid-March. Under the terms of the definitive agreement, Fastly will acquire Signal Sciences for $200 million in cash and approximately $575 million worth of Class A Common Stock. The transaction is expected to close before the end of 2020. [Related: Edge Data Center Pioneer EdgeConneX Acquired By EQT] Fastly’s edge cloud platform helps customers create digital experiences quickly and securely by processing customers’ applications as close to their end-users as possible at the edge. The platform is programmable and supports agile software development. Some of its nearly 2,000 customers include Vimeo, Pinterest and GitHub. Signal Sciences is one of the fastest growing web application security companies in the market, protecting more than 40,000 applications and over a trillion production request per month, according to the company. The company provides a developer-friendly and programmable solution that helps businesses make accurate and automated security decisions. With Signal Sciences technology, Fastly said it will create a new security offering dubbed, Secure@Edge, a unified web application and API protection solution that will power and protect companies looking to begin or further their digital transformation. “Together with Signal Sciences, we will give developers modern security tools designed for the way they work,” said Fastly CEO Joshua Bixby in a statement. “This new solution will integrate with our Compute@Edge platform, accelerating the adoption of edge computing, while simultaneously solving for modern security challenges.” Earlier this month, San Francisco-based Fastly reported second quarter revenue of $75 million, up a whopping 62 percent year over year, besting Wall Street estimates. Fastly increased its full-year 2020 revenue guidance to upwards of $300 million, compared to roughly $200 million in sales last year. Fastly has received something of a boost stemming from the coronavirus pandemic as network traffic has surged as more people work from home. In May 2019, Fastly raised $180 million during its initial public offering (IPO) with shares priced at $16. Fastly recently did a secondary offering which raised more than $280 million with shares priced at roughly $41.50. The company’s biggest customer is social media company TikTok, accounting for roughly 12 percent of its total revenue.. What is EDGE Boost?
