All Muslims of legal age must fast during the month of Ramadan, except for those who are unwell, elderly, on lengthy journeys, pregnant, or nursing.Fasting is called “swam” in Arabic, while “roza” in Urdu. Being Muslims, we fast (refrain from eating and drinking) from dawn to dusk, smoke, and keep ourselves at a distance from activities that our religion asks us to abide by.
